Hello there!
Week 3 of weirdness, I am rarely not in pajamas, and I miss having reasons to dress up. Getting dressed in the morning to go to class & work was seriously one of my favorite parts of the day. I don't know if you've gathered this, but I love clothes and putting together outfits. So losing that as part of my daily routine has really put me in a rut. But when I got this dress in the mail, I just had to get all dressed up. Even if it was just around my neighborhood, staying 6 feet away from everyone, for some pictures. I am completely in love with this tie-shoulder trend I have been seeing so much of for spring and summer this year! I am a huge fan of anything with a bow on it, so any new way to add some to the mix is an instant win for me. I also adore how the bodice of this dress is a stretchy, smocked material which makes it super comfy. The skirt is a tiered, scalloped, eyelet lace which is so darling and sweet for spring. I paired it with these denim blue espadrille heels from Rialto by White Mountain shoes that are less than $50 & oh so comfortable. I think this would be so cute for a casual Easter spent at home eating chocolate eggs- don't you think? I also wanted to share some things that have been bringing me joy from home, because let's be honest I certainly don't have the energy to get all dressed up every day. I have been indulging in a lot of coffee, and tea. Pretty much anything caffeinated that I can sip out of a cute mug. Do really cute mugs bring anyone else a disproportionate amount of joy? I have also been enjoying my morning runs even more than usual; taking in the fresh air, and observing everything that is coming into bloom. While my eyes are killing me, it is awfully pretty outside this time of year! Lastly I have been listening to a lot of podcasts. Nothing too heavy, lighthearted background noise is what I have been after. I have especially been loving Be There in Five with Kate Kennedy. She tackles everything from pop culture, early 2000's nostalgia, the mysterious empires built by mormon mommy bloggers, and this week an hour-long deep dive into her favorite dipping sauces! If you are looking for more of my podcast, tv, and activity recommendations check out this blog post! What has been bringing you joy? Let me know! til next time, Emily
