Hill House Nap Dress Review

Hello there!
I remember in the midst of early pandemic life in 2020 of seeing headlines about the 'Nap Dress'. I even had people sending me the links and asking for my opinion, as the resident dress connoisseur. I didn't get the excitement over these branded 'Nap Dresses', as I find just about every dress comfortable enough to nap in. I don't know if this is odd- but I think I would nap in just about every dress in my closet. And I do. Especially throughout this pandemic, I have really doubled down on the thought that dresses are the most comfortable option! Especially the smocked ones, but again I didn't see anything particularly special about these 'Nap Dresses'.

Spring of 2021 I started seeing more and more of the Hill House Nap Dress, and actually ended up falling in love with their English Garden collection. I however didn't realize that by this point that had somewhat of a cult following, only to find that everything in these pretty florals was sold out. I needed another smocked 'prairie girl' dress like a hole in the head, but I told myself if the 'Pastel Trellis' print came back in stock or if I found one second hand, I'd have to try one for myself.

Long story short I saw they were having a re-edition of their Trellis collection, and had to pick one up. Or two... okay three. I told myself I would return the ones I didn't like, you know like a fool. Because I ended up loving all three. I grabbed two Ellie nap dresses, and one Nelsi. I grabbed the Ellie in Pastel Trellis and a pink floral they did in collaboration with Bridgerton, and the Nelsi in Emerald trellis that I could wear into fall, and again in the spring.

Now, are these dresses worth the hype? For me, with my lifestyle and style- 100% yes. I work from home, so these are appropriate for me to 'wear to work' per se. And I do! They are comfortable enough for me to wear all day, while still being put together and cute. They are also easy dressed up with a headband and heels to wear out to dinner!

And yes, they are comfortable enough to nap in. On the weekends when I wear them I do nap in them. I wouldn't say they are more comfortable to nap in than other dresses, but they certainly are comfortable enough to nap in.

So, have you bought into the 'Nap Dress' yet? Not too late- the pandemic seems as though it will be dragging on a for a while still!
