I escaped the everlasting winter in MN and flew home to spend some time with my mom & horse in Texas this week, and enjoying every moment of sunshine I can! I don't know if I should be embarrassed, or proud of how many dresses I was able to pack into my carry-on bag.
This French cotton puff dress from Selkie took up by far the most space in my little carry on. It is just as voluminous as it looks, and took up about 1/4 of my suitcase. However it was 100% worth it to twirl around in the sunshine!
I have been in love with these Selkie dresses for a while. I mean, they have all of the makings of a very me dress. However the tulle puff style isn't the most wearable thing. However when I saw this voluminous cotton midi dress in this Laura Ashley bed sheet style print from the 90's? I was like yeah, this is much more wearable. I know, not really. And not everyone's cup of tea, but it is absolutely mine! I will be wearing this while working from home! Life is too short to not dress up like a princess, right?
The Selkie size chart is sort of intimidating, but I went ahead and grabbed mine in a small for a more relaxed fit. It was a little too relaxed, but I added some ammeter darts in the back. Clearly easier than an exchange, right? But I was just too excited to wear it.
I styled it here with some blush espadrille wedges, a blue velvet hair bow, and a bouquet of flowers I fashioned together from Kroger. Shoutout to my floral design class from high school! The dress is linked above & the rest of the look is linked in the LTK app.
