Hello there!
Okay, I don't wear makeup every day- at least not anymore! I used to have really terrible cystic acne, and I would pack on the foundation, concealer, and powder. Looking back, I should have let my skin breath instead of trying to hide behind a mask of makeup-but you live and you learn. After years of working really hard on clearing up my skin, and getting comfortable with myself, I don't feel like I have to wear makeup by any means. Now it is just something I enjoy, and I do it when I feel like it! So when I am doing my makeup on an average day, these are the products I reach for! I'll go through this in the order I put the stuff on my face, sound good? I start out by putting some eyeshadow primer on my lids, I've been using this one from Urban Decay for years and it has never failed me. I always get the mini size, and it lasts me a year! While my eyeshadow primer is drying, I sweep some tinted brow gel through my brows: I like this one from NYX in the color "blonde". Then I move onto my eyeshadow! I have been loving this palate from ColourPop, and its only $16! My favorite eyeliner is this one by Pixi you can get at Target in the color "Black Cocoa", which is a deep brown. For mascara I've been using Benefit's They're Real for years! For my face I keep it pretty light! Maybe it was the years of packing on the face products, but I cannot stand that feeling of having so much makeup on anymore. I have been loving the Rodan+Fields Radiant Defense in the shade "Shell"! It is a light coverage CC cream, but it does a fantastic job of smoothing over any unevenness and just makes my skin look flawless. It feels nice to start out with a face product I know will help my skin, and not clog up my pores or break me out. It also has SPF, so it is extra perfect for everyday wear If you have any other questions about Radiant Defense, you can ask my consultant here! For concealer I use a small amount of the Tarte Shape Tape in the color "light". This stuff is awesome if you have under-eye sacks, or if you do have some blemishes to cover. It is super full-coverage, but doesn't look or feel cake-y on your skin. For powder I use this one from Cover FX; again it doesn't look or feel heavy on the skin, especially when you just dust on a light amount. I have also used this stuff for photoshoots, and there is no flashback! For bronzer I love this Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer, just in the regular "bronzer" color. It warms up my skin without making me look orange, and gives my face some shape without it being a sharp contour. My favorite blush for quite some time has been Tarte's Amizonian Clay blush in "Paaarty", it's just the prettiest rosey pink! My favorite highlighter is this one by Pixie, and I picked it up from Target! I love it because it makes you look all luminous and radiant, but not glittery. Lastly I put on some lipstick! Lipstick depends on the day, what I'm wearing, the mood I'm in... And I have waaay too many to talk about. If you want another blog post with some of my favorite lippies, let me know! What are some of your favorite makeup products? Let me know in the comments! I'm always in the mood to try something new! 'til next time, Emily B
