Red lipstick was some of the first lipstick I started to experiment with; I blame Taylor Swift. Granted it was not the best look with just mascara and some concealer as a freshman in high school, in fact it was heinous; but I like to think I have perfected the look over the years. Since I've been toying with red lipstick since freshman year of high school, and I am now a junior in college- I have tried a lot of red lipstick. Like, a lot. An embarrassing amount. I recently purged my collection of ones that had gone bad, and I still have a whole drawer full. So as a girl with a whole drawer of red lippies, I feel like I have some authority when I say I have found the best one. I have others I like and wear, but this one is my love. Looks great, lasts all day, doesn't get on your teeth or migrate onto the rest of your face, and the color is perfect. Okay, I'll finally spill it- it is MAC's Ruby Woo. This lipstick is a cult classic for a reason. It is the perfect bright, cool-toned red that makes your lips pop & makes your teeth look white. The shade is the right mix of bright, vibrant, and deep all at the same time. Not too deep that its vampy, not too light that it looks almost pink or orange. It is that perfect pin-up, retro red lip. And as I mentioned, it lasts all day. It is a matte finish, but not so matte that it sucks the life from your lips, and it is easy to touch-up if need be. I read somewhere several years ago that it's the red Taylor Swift sports, which is what initially sold me. I keep repurchasing because it really is that good. If you wear lipstick, you know how rare it is to go through a lipstick at all: I have used up three whole tubes of Ruby Woo, which is yet another testament to how much I love it.
