I used to be terrified to do anything to my hair, until recently. Now I am always wanting to do something else to it. A few weeks ago, I decided I wanted some highlights. But, I didn't want to pay someone to give them to me. I totally get investing in a good cut and color, but I was in the mood for doing something different to my hair at 7pm. So me and my mom took a trip to Walmart, and picked up this box of highlights. It comes with a cap to pull hair through to highlight it, but me and my mom didn't have that kind of patience. So we threw on this video of Jenna Marbles cutting and coloring her own hair, and started going to town on our own. Luckily for me, my mom has been doing her own hair for as long as I can remember. So she helped me section off my hair, and apply small streaks of the blonde highlight color around my whole head and around my face. It was a fun little at-home, high-risk spa night! We laughed, covered each other in hair color, and waited. I washed my hair out, let my mom chop another half inch off of my hair as well as some layers, and then I blow dried it. I'm happy to report it turned out super cute, especially since I had a photo shoot the next day! It came out a nice, light blonde color that just looks like nice, natural highlights in my light brown hair. I would highly recommend this box of hair color, it's less than $7 and is plenty enough for two people if you are looking for a high-risk gals night! Have you ever used boxed hair color?
