Picnic Ready OOTD

Hello there!
Gingham always makes me feel like a picnic blanket. A cute picnic blanket, but a picnic blanket none the less. It is a print I gravitate towards in the summer every year without fail, and I think it is a timeless print at this point. Sort of like a buffalo plaid is to fall, and florals for spring- gingham is always going to come around in the summer. 

I love this trendy take on the gingham dress, in this 'puff dress' style. This style has been popularized by the designer brand 'Selkie', with their voluminous tulle & puff sleeves that make for the most darling, statement silhouette. However those Selkie dresses are several hundred dollars, and not something I would see myself getting a ton of wear out of. So I was happy to see some more wearable, and affordable takes on this style popping up this summer!

This one is from Morning Lavender, and the gingham print in this pretty light blue just felt so summery to me! I've been loving this relaxed, comfy style for working from home. But I had to dress it up a little for pictures! I paired it with this Kate Spade strawberry adorned basked bag, rightfully part of their 'Picnic' collection. My mom actually got this bag for me while I was on my honeymoon, and was so excited to give it to me when I got back. She said it was so ridiculous, she knew I would love it. And she was absolutely right. I'm a sucker for a kitschy bag! And it is perfect with this bag.

Together this makes for such a cute, quirky pairing for an over-the-top picnic inspired look! Don't you think?
