Pinafore Dresses, Swiss Dots, and my Twee Revival

Since I went a little off the rails with my last holiday look, I decided to go with something a little more classic with this post. As I said, I do love a classic red look for the holidays!

My love of pinafore dresses stems from the early 2010's 'twee' trend, which in short was fashions that were excessively cute, quaint, and quirky. Think Jessica Day from New Girl! And with my full forehead of bangs & being back to my brunette roots, it seemed like the perfect time to embrace a personal twee renaissance.

This plaid dress is perfect dressed up with the Swiss dotted blouse, cap-toe ballerina pumps, and my Kate Spade present bag for a Christmas-ready look. Being in Texas for the holidays to spend time with family, I didn't have to add any layers for warmth. When I'm back in MN in January, I'll style this dress with a knit turtleneck bodysuit, fleece-lined tights, black knee-high boots, and a wrap-coat layered over my shoulders. These dresses are great for layering up and down as the weather fluctuates, for my fellow midwest-based girly girls!
