Puff sleeves have been so on trend this season, and I am probably way too excited about it. I love looking and feeling like an adult princess while working from home! And it only garners a few odd looks out in public... totally worth it though! These puffy babydoll style dresses have also been so on trend this summer. I think this style was popularized by the brand Selkie, with their now famous puff dresses. Those are really dramatic in rainbow shades of tulle, which unfortunately just not something I'd reach for often. So, I appreciated the style from afar. But this little number reminded me so much of that shape, but in a more wearable style. And when I put it on, I knew it would be a fast favorite.
I love that this one is actually made of a really light, soft, cotton poplin fabric. The blue florals are so delicate and sweet, and the clip dots add an extra feminine little touch. The top of this dress keeps this relaxed style flattering, and it cuts off right under the boobs. Sometimes these babydoll styles make you look bigger than you really are, but this one just makes me feel fun and cute! And the square neckline & puffed sleeves? Yeah, done deal. I've had a few people tell me it is very 'Bridgerton', which I've never seen. But after a little googling, I was flattered!
I styled it here with some heeled mules to dress it up a little. I also love it with some Keds, and I've tossed a denim jacket over top for a light layer for here in MN. I topped off my look outfit with some butterfly earrings & layered necklaces from Audrey and Vivian. You already know I love a bee motif, and these butterflies remind me so much of TS's ME! music video which is a very good thing in my book. I love how these pieces are trendy, without being chunky or borderline tacky. I can see myself wearing these long after the trendiness fades!
Puffy dresses- love 'em or hate 'em?
