I don't know if you can tell by clicking through my blog, but jeans are not my thing. In high school, after spending hours looking for jeans for heading back to school I came to the realization that I just didn't like jeans. And for several years, I just never really wore them! In Texas I could really wear dresses year, round, and in college I just grabbed for leggings to wear with sweaters on those few cold weeks we'd get down south.
However moving to Minnesota last year had to make me re-evaluate my wardrobe. Yes, I could just wear leggings. But Wearing leggings for months on end was making me feel like a bit of a bum. So I was forced to make amends with my relationship with jeans, and find a few staple pairs to add to my closet. And after adding some staple pairs to my closet, I do actually love wearing denim now!
I was excited when more styles than just the basic skinny jeans were coming into style. It is a fun way to switch up your looks! Just like playing with different styles of dresses. So I was excited to partner up with Liverpool to style a pair of their straight legged jeans! I was sort of scared they'd be too long and baggy on my petite height, but a couple of cuffs fixed that right up. And I love the fit! They are relaxed and comfortable, without being baggy and shapeless.
I paired it with one of Liverpool's classic white tanks, and layered a bralette underneath for a layered look with some lace peeking out. Topped off the outfit with a statement headband, and my Kate Spade 'picnic' bag for a summery touch!
While I won't be retiring my go-to skinny jeans, I am excited to have another style to play with heading into fall this year!
